JBL’s Control 400 Enhanced Coverage Series is the next generation of JBL ceiling loudspeakers, succeeding the iconic Control 20 Series with wider, more consistent coverage, upgraded acoustics, easier installation, and a modern look.
At the heart of the series is JBL’s Coplanar RBI™ (CRBI™) baffle, engineered to deliver especially smooth, even sound—reducing on-axis “hot spots” and off-axis “cold spots”—so listeners experience clear audio throughout the space. This improved coverage can also reduce the number of speakers and amplifier channels required for a project.
Installers benefit from thoughtful hardware: full-face magnetic grilles (with optional black and square variants), enhanced terminal covers with top/side cable entry and captive hand-screws, plus a robust captive dog-ear design that works across a wide range of ceiling thicknesses. All models include transformers for 70V/100V distributed systems and support low-impedance operation.
The lineup covers a broad set of applications—retail, corporate offices, education, transit, and more—with multiple configurations and an 8″ ceiling subwoofer for added LF extension: Control 424C/T, 424LP, 426C/T, 426LP, 426C/T-LS (life-safety), and the 419CS/T subwoofer.
